Les Hautes Roches

On the banks of the river and half built into a cliff, stands Les Hautes Roches. The long name for a cave hotel is a “troglodytic hotel” but staying there is not as complicated as spelling that thankfully. The cave used to be used by monks but now the internal corridors and cells have been converted into luxurious accommodation.

Subility of expressive cooking, discreet service, the originality of converted bedrooms within the cliffs, Voyages Confidentiels recommend this unique experience for a stay in the Loire River region. Facing the Loire, in an authentique environment, we invite you to savour the many charms of a surprising estate.

In this Relais & Châteaux hotel, all but three rooms were part of a monastery that was carved into the tuffeau cliffs above the Loire. Other rooms are in an adjacent 18th-century mansion with the hotel's restaurant and dining terrace. The spacious rooms with unmatched views of the river are decorated with modern fabrics and classic-style furniture, and have large marble-adorned bathrooms.

Its lounges and dining room are housed in an elegant 17th-century villa facing onto the river. Enjoy romantic candlelit dinners and excellent Loire wines.

Les Haute Roches is located in the very heart of the Loire Valley, only eight kilometers from the center of Tours and fifteen kilometers from Amboise.
